Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration by any other journal. In the case of prior publication (in whole or in part), the author must provide detailed explanations in the comments to the editor.
  • The manuscript must be submitted in .doc or .docx format. Files in other formats are accepted only upon prior agreement with the editorial office. Authors are recommended to prepare the manuscript using OpenOffice, LibreOffice, or Microsoft Word.
  • The reference list must be formatted according to one of the following citation styles (depending on editorial requirements or the type of manuscript):
    • American Medical Association (AMA). A detailed guide is available at:

    • American Psychological Association (APA). A detailed guide is available at:

    Whenever possible, authors are required to include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) in the format https://doi.org/... or the PubMed ID in the format https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/.
  • The main text of the manuscript should be typed in 12-point font with single line spacing. Headings and subheadings are recommended to be formatted in bold, and key terms in italics. Tables and figures must be placed directly within the text at the appropriate locations. Additionally, graphical materials (figures, illustrations, diagrams) should be submitted as separate files in .jpg format
  • The manuscript must include a structured abstract. For original research articles, the abstract must include the following sections: background, methods, results, discussion, and conclusions. Articles written in Ukrainian must also include an abstract in English.

Author Guidelines

The journal “Psychosomatic Medicine and General Practice” is a peer-reviewed scientific periodical that accepts for publication original research articles (including randomized controlled clinical trials, observational studies, case–control studies, etc.), systematic reviews (with or without meta-analysis), case reports, and short research communications. The journal publishes scholarly works in medical disciplines as well as studies in clinical psychology. The journal is included in the List of Specialized Scientific Publications of Ukraine in accordance with Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 409 dated March 17, 2020 (Field — Medical Sciences).

Manuscripts must be submitted after registration on the website via the electronic submission system (dashboard).

Registration is available via the following link: Register. The author’s surname, first name, and patronymic must be provided in English in accordance with transliteration rules. The name of the affiliated institution must be indicated in English according to its official spelling used by your academic or clinical institution.
